Why Insurtainment?

For years, the insurance market has focused on government institutions, corporates, individuals and organized groups. Yet one influential group has largely been overlooked. The entertainment and showbiz community.

This audience is young, informed, financially savvy and highly influential. Still, they remain largely uninsured. Insurtainment exists to bridge this gap by recognizing the creative industry as a distinct market and engaging it in a way that speaks its language and reality.

Driving Insurance Penetration

This project is driven by the urgent need to reposition Nigeria’s insurance sector for greater efficiency and sustainable growth. Insurance plays a vital role in strengthening the economy, yet industry performance has remained low due to limited underwriting capacity, low consumer trust, widespread poverty and weak distribution infrastructure.

Together, these challenges have resulted in poor insurance penetration across the country. Insurtainment addresses this gap by creating innovative, audience-focused pathways that make insurance more accessible, relatable and effective for today’s market.

Our Story

I have spent years working at the intersection of insurance and people. One thing became clear very quickly. Insurance was speaking to everyone, except the people shaping culture.

Creatives, entertainers and storytellers drive influence, income and identity. Yet many of them work without protection. Projects get disrupted. Health emergencies happen. Income is uncertain. Still, insurance feels distant, complicated or irrelevant.

Insurtainment was born from that gap.

I wanted to create a platform that speaks the language of the creative industry while delivering real insurance solutions. Not lectures. Not fear. Just clear conversations, practical products and trust built over time.

By using film, comedy, events and storytelling, Insurtainment makes insurance visible, relatable and useful. It treats the entertainment industry not as an afterthought, but as a serious economic force that deserves tailored protection.

This is more than advocacy. It is about safeguarding livelihoods, strengthening the creative economy and changing how insurance shows up in everyday life.

The Strategic Objective is on championing a new approach and innovative Marketing & Sales of insurance products and services in Nigeria through the entertainment showbiz and comedy events.
